On Saturday, January 26, 2008, Mayor Larry Guidi and Assembly Member Curren D. Price, Jr. co-sponsored the South Bay Crime Prevention Summit at the Hawthorne Memorial Center in efforts to build strategies for community outreach and successful youth violence prevention. A panel of community leaders and activists gathered to provided insight and possible solutions to the problem at hand. Some of the invited guests included panelists from the Governor's CAL GRIP office, California Department of Justice, local faith-based & community organizations, and Gardena, Hawthorne, Inglewood and Los Angeles Police Departments.
