Newly re-elected Councilman Parsons has been involved in community organizations since moving to Hawthorne with his wife Cindy in 1991. Councilman Parsons is a past President of the HollyGlen Homeowners Association and helped create the Ramona Homeowners Association. He is also a Hawthorne Rotary member and a member of the Hawthorne Chamber of Commerce.

As an active community volunteer, Councilman Parsons realizes the importance of creating neighborhood associations to work with the City to resolve local issues and problems.

Councilman Parsons is interested in economic and job development in Hawthorne, constructive activities for Hawthorne youth, public safety, and improving communication between the City government and residents through town hall meetings.
