Ginny McGinnis-Lambert

Ginny McGinnis Lambert was first elected to office in 1986. She has been re-elected 5 times by overwhelming support of the community. By appointment of her colleagues, Mrs. Lambert has served as Mayor Pro Tem for four years.

Since Mayor Pro Tem Lambert's first election in 1986, her goals have been steadfastly to ensure the safety of our children and families throughout the community, and protect the value of our homes. She has fought to keep government costs to an absolute minimum in order to attract new business and increase revenue, and to serve all members of our community equally. Business, homeowners and apartment owners have all experienced substantially lowered cost for their trash pickup as a result of Lambert's 10-year effort to bring this business to a bidding process.

Mrs. Lambert has worked hard to protect our major assets, such as our Hawthorne Airport. Lambert was the tie-breaker vote to approve a new Police Station and Emergency Call Center (911) and with support from her colleagues, the City now has an airship for Police Patrol. This airship is currently kept in ready condition in a hanger at the airport. It is Mrs. Lambert's goal to see the airship back in action again as soon as the city budget allows. The airship has proven to be a great asset to our Police Department in protecting Hawthorne from terrorist activities. Mayor Pro Tem Lambert plans to continue with all these important priorities. Currently, Mrs. Lambert is working with major investors who wish to establish their business in the City of Hawthorne. If successful, the developer will bring nearly 1,000 jobs to Hawthorne and a tax base increase of over $800,000.00. More Later. . . . . . .
