Household Hazardous Waste Roundup

Dispose of Hazardous Waste: The City of Hawthorne will be hosting a Free Los Angeles County Household Hazardous Waste Roundup, April 21st at the Betty Ainsworth Center parking lot, at the corner of Doty and El Segundo Blvd. Come drop off your hazardous waste and then stop by and visit our Earth Day Festival taking place next door at Memorial Park. How to prepare: * Bring the items in a sturdy box, preferably in their original, labeled containers. * Do not mix products together. * In general, there is a limit of 15 gallons or 125 pounds per vehicle. * Be prepared to leave your containers.
What you CAN bring to a roundup: * motor oil, oil filters, brake fluid, paint, paint thinner, turpentine, cleaners with acid or lye, pesticides or herbicides, household batteries or ear batteries, pool chemicals
What you CANNOT bring to a roundup: * explosives, ammunition, radioactive materials, business waste, trash, tires
Conducted by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works and the Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County in cooperation with Carson, Compton, El Segundo, Hawthorne, Hermosa Beach, Inglewood, Lawndale, Los Angeles, Lynwood, Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach and Torrance. |
