Upcoming Events:

  • The City of Hawthorne recently established a Senior Citizen Commission.  If you are at least 50 years of age, reside in the City of Hawthorne and are interested in Senior Citizen programs and issues, why not consider serving on our new commission.  Applications are available in the City Clerk's office of City Hall.  Appointments are made by the Mayor and City Council.  Meetings will be held monthly.  For more information please call 310 349-1640. 


  • The  25th Annual Parks & Recreation Foundation Golf Tournament will take place on Monday, March 24, 2014 at the Coyote Hills Golf Course.  The proceeds from this tournament will provide replacement computers and ancillary equipment for the Hawthorne Senior Center. We are seeking suggestions for a Name!

The City of Hawthorne has developed a small Recreation Space at;
 3835 W. 118th Street (Adjacent to the Century 105 Freeway).

You may also provide your Ideas by;

  • Visting the Recreation & Community Services Department Memorial Center at 3901 W. El Segundo Blvd.
  • Or by calling 310 349-1640 and speaking to the Recreation Department Staff.

Ideas will be reviewed by the Recreation and Fine Arts Commission and recommended to the City Council for final decision.
