The City of Hawthorne is happy to announce a FREE recycling program for multi-family dwellings. Working in conjunction with Allied Waste and with funding from CalRecycle, the City offers free recycling options to apartments, townhomes, and all multi-family properties.
Recycling service has always been free for these properties but our new outreach campaign hopes to make recycling easier and more efficient for both tenants and owners. The new program features:
-Bi-lingual posters, post-cards and flyers describing the program (sample included)
-Free reusable recycling bags for tenants. Tenants can fill these bags up and then take them to the larger recycling bin outside.
-Various sizes of recycling bins to accommodate limited space
-Free service of recycling bins (excluding scout service charge)
-Monitoring and assistance by City staff.
Waste reduction is an important part of helping our environment. This program can help you do your part, while also providing a valuable service to your tenants. By reducing your waste, you may also be able to reduce your trash bill and save some money in the process.
