Waste Disposal

FOR RESIDENTS:

NOTE: For almost all Hawthorne residents, trash service is scheduled the same day as streetsweeping service. Trash service will be delayed one day after the following holidays: Labor Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day (when it falls on a weekday), and New Year's Day (when it falls on a weekday).

Bulky items must be placed on the curb ONLY AFTER you call your trash company to arrange pick up. Hawthorne Municipal Code 8.16 states that it is unlawful to permit garbage to collect.

Properties that use trash carts are entitled to two FREE special pick-ups per year for bulky items, consisting of 64 cubic feet of material each time. Call Allied Waste at (888) 742-5234 to set up a special pick-up at your address.
