The City of Hawthorne is seeking to lease its water system and associated ground water for a fifteen (15) year period. Under this lease arrangement, the lessee would take over complete responsibility for the operation and maintenance of the water system, including billing and collection as outlined in the attached lease documents. In addition to the lease of the water system, the City desires to lease its ground water rights. The City wishes to maximize the lease payment for the period of the lease while ensuring the best water quality and best possible service for its water customers. Accordingly, bids will be evaluated on the basis of both overall lease payment and demonstrated experience and commitment to excellence in the delivery of water service.
RFP and Lease Agreement documents are available to prospective proposers at the Hawthorne City Hall, Engineering Counter. Bid return date is on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 by 4:00 p.m. and there is a mandatory pre-proposal site visit on April 27th at 9:30 A.M.
