Creating an Emergency Go Bag

When the ground begins to roll, do you think about grabbing your GO BAG?  You may ask, what is a “GO BAG”?  This bag might contain any or all of the following for a quick exit:

·          duffle bag or something similar that holds your gear should you have to evacuate
·          Water
·          Non-perishable food
·          Flashlights and extra batteries
·          AM/FM radio
·          First aid kit
·          At least $100 cash in small bills (ATM’s won’t work)
·          Photo ID’s
·          Insurance cards
·          Copy of your Family Emergency Plan
·          Sanitary wipes
·          Diapers (If you have little ones)
·          Tampons / Pads as needed
·          Sunscreen
·          Toilet paper
·          Prescribed medications
·          Work gloves and extra latex gloves
·          Dust masks
·          Change of clothes including shoes
·          Light blanket
·          Knife

Of course you can tailor the contents of the bag to fit you or your family’s needs.

Remember, the minimum amount of drinkable water you should have on hand is at least one gallon per person per day.

 Prepare for the unexpected!
